The Superfood of All Superfoods

Greetings you awesome human, and a very Happy Wednesday! How is your day rolling? My goal is to not fall asleep as I am writing this very blog post. No, no; it has nothing to do with being bored BUT everything to do with being so flipping tired. I know I made mention about this the other day but, anymore, I would be extremely content to curl up in bed before it is even 2:00 pm. Yes, like so incredibly tired everything is an effort. Fortunately/unfortunately, I am in full hair and makeup so I am going to have to keep this train rolling for now. Actually, this is a perfect segway since maybe I need a healthy dose of superfoods to keep my energy high, sleep better, and stress levels to a minimum.

In case you missed it, last night on the “Shop Lit Live” app, I did a series on smoothies and mocktails. FYI: it is FREE to download the app and you can hang with me every Tuesday night, 7:00 pm EST, and shop the very products that I am touting. Superfoods-Berry-Blend

Let’s start with the Superfood & Berry Blend! This powder is made up of 3 ingredients and only has 2 grams of sugar. These include Acai (powerful Omega’s and antioxidants), Goji Berries (a Chinese Medicine favorite to promote longevity), and Blueberries (packed full of polyphenols; also known as antioxidants).

Here is the smoothie I made (ah hem, okay it was taken right off the package):

  • 1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk (I used oat milk)
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Superfood & Berry Blend

Add ice, blend, and place in a pretty glass! Oh, and more importantly, get ready to experience all the amazing benefits! P.S. If you want to add some protein powder, go for it! Make it completely customizable for YOU!

Superfoods-Cacao-Powder

Next up, Cacao Powder! Rich in antioxidants and flavanoids, this 100% cacao powder is wonderful for heart health, helps decrease blood pressure, and can help those who are insulin sensitive manage their glucose levels. I added this to a smoothie bowl and it was the perfect compliment!

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk alternative (I used oat milk)
  • 2 scoops plant based protein powder
  • 1 tbsp. Cacao Powder
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 tbsp. nut butter

Add ice, blend, pour in a bowl, and adorn with (unsweetened) coconut flakes, a few slices of banana, your favorite granola, or like I did, and crumbled the Coffee Cacoa Power Snacks.

Although these are great to take on the run, these beauties are packed with cacao, coffee, dates and, wait for it, 10 amazing superfoods! I wanted to add an additional punch to my smoothie bowl.
